Bitcoin Walk NYC #3
What? Where was I for walk #1 and #2?
Graphic so cute I had to repost, but I would not want to walk 1.8 mi. from Bryant Park to Washington Sq. in those yellow boots that are not made for walkin’.
Official Bitcoin walk tees are now avail’ for purchase! Strolling and swag, what’s not to love? Meet at Bryant Park Cafe
MON OCT 6
CryptoMondays Wall Street with Jamie Leverton
Free 🎁
Another Monday, another serve from the Crypto Mondays NYC crew. Yes, please.
Following up on August’s quite nice Women of Wall Street-themed Crypto Monday, come on down(town) and meet Jamie Leverton, CEO at ReserveOne. Previously, as CEO of Hut 8, she transformed a small-scale miner into one of North America’s largest digital asset platforms and the first public company to hold BTC on its balance sheet. (btw, ReserveOne’s CFO is Melanie Pump, former CFO at Polymath. Frequent NYC crypto event headliner John D’Agostino (Coinbase Institutional) is a Director. All in the fam.)
This one is a bit more buttoned up than most crypto events, meaning you probably can’t just roll up last minute like usual (or is that just me?) RSVP to this link for approval is required, limited space avail,
The building and host venue require credentials and ID to enter the building.
Your Lu.Ma ticket QR code is required, but doesn’t guarantee entry.
Once the venue reaches max capacity, it will be one in - one out
More Crypto Mondays - (almost) every Monday
Free 🎁
Two flavors: First Mondays - Crypto Monday Wall Street Edition often includes a fireside chat with a guest. All the other Mondays are mix-and-mingle events.

TUE OCT 7
Fall Fintech Hour with Highnote & Oak HC/FT
Free 🎁
There is a veritable paucity of blockchain events early this month; blame it on AI Week NY.
So I’m posting this Fintech event that looks fun. Highnote does payments stuff, a space that is a lot more interesting than it used to be, given the debut of stablecoins. Oak HC/FT apparently does acronyms and investments in healthcare/fintech.

THU OCT 16
NYC Blockchain Network - Third Thursdays
Free 🎁
All networking, no speakers. The crowd is welcoming, interesting, and A+.
NOTE: 🚨 This event is NOT held at Yara Lounge anymore, ever. The description is wrong on Meetup. Double-check the registration for the location.
The event is usually held at The Hugh downstairs food hall. Look for a crowd standing around tables near the restaurant counters. Once I was chatting and discovered I had crashed a law firm’s happy hour, so ask around for the web3bies, and pick your vibe!
5:00 - 9:00

Organizer: NYC Blockchain Network
TUE OCT 21
Harlem Bitcoin Meetup
October is Bitcoin White Paper month! HBM is bringing it back and talk about the origins of Bitcoin and discuss what made Bitcoin different than every attempt at digital cash that came before it.
Harlem Bitcoin Community is open to anyone who wants to talk about or learn about Bitcoin.
BABS approves that message.
WED OCT 22

Join co-hosts Lindsay Poss and Larissa Bundziak for the debut live show of Seeking Alpha, the podcast that makes crypto accessible, careers relatable, and dating… survivable. Expect sharp insights, plenty of laughs, and unfiltered commentary on the worlds of money, ambition, and modern love.

HRF x PubKey: Building Censorship Resistant Social Media w/ Will Casarin
FREE
Geez, maybe I should just pitch a tent at PubKey this week!
Each month, the Human Rights Foundation and PubKey dive into how Freedom Tech and Bitcoin advance humanitarian goals.
Imagine a world where the government pressures META to shut down, ghost ban or severely limit the reach of certain Instagram accounts. I’m genuinely shocked it hasn’t happened yet.
Everyone building a social following, and who disagrees with the ruling party atm, needs a social media plan B. Come on down to cute lil’ PubKey and let’s start plotting the alternatives.

Curious yet skeptical about stablecoins? I got you, boss. I just released a new edition of The Crypto Skeptics’ Intro to Stablecoins book. It contains updated information on the GENIUS Act and how stablecoins can affect the payments industry. It’s brief and engaging, with no hype, no jargon, and no crypto bros.
