About Kala
The fundamental systems that shape our lives are undergoing a seismic shift. In some cases, old systems are painfully crumbling to make way for a better setup. The toxic patriarchy is a great example. The global financial landscape is another.
With a big nudge from Babs (I’m basically her Chief Minion), I started the Girlfriend’s Guide to the Future to provide interesting, valuable context and information on diverse emerging trends.
I started writing about emerging trends and decentralized tech in my mid-50’s. I’ve always been obsessed with the bigger picture.
My lens is unique. After ten years of living as a modern nomad and 4 years full-time in Mexico City, my muse dropped us into NYC without a parachute.
As a writer and content strategist, I’ve had contracts with leading fintech and Web3 organizations, including the largest crypto exchange in Latin America, the largest financial asset manager in the world (yes, that one), and ZenLedger, a venture-backed crypto tax SaaS with multiple funding rounds. Currently, I’m a content specialist for an OG Layer 1 blockchain.
I also write brief memoir pieces based (mostly) on my travels that share a slice of life that seemed very long ago, even in the moment. Time truly is non-linear.
